Radical New Ducati Diavel on the Way

Motorcycle NewsDucati's power-cruiser, the Ducati Diavel, revolutionized the genre owing to its long and low stance, awesome looks, amazing handling, superb ride-ability and heart-pounding performance. Now, however, the Ducati Diavel is swiftly drifting away from being a power-cruiser to being just a cruiser. Yes, according to reports, the latest generation of Ducati Diavel will be styled more conventionally in conformity with modern-day cruisers.

Currently, a few online sources have reported and posted pictures of the latest Ducati Diavel, which looks production-spec, revealing the finer details about the upcoming motorcycle.

The new Ducati Diavel will feature a new engine, frame, bodywork, swing-arm, drivetrain and, most importantly, a cruiser-like forward-mounted foot-rests.

The Benelli TNT 25 - 250cc Single-Cylinder Naked

Motorcycle NewsOne of the oldest Italian motorcycle brand Benelly is gearing up to come out with its smallest offering next year – the single-cylinder Benelli TNT 25. The small-hearted urban street brawler promises to be a strong performer with its 249cc single-cylinder engine putting out 24 real horsepower and 26 Nm torque. As with all other Benellis, the TNT 25 will sound fantastic and its expected price tag will be even sweeter music to your ears.

The Honda CRF250 Rally - Launched Soon

Motorcycle NewsThe Honda CRF250 Rally motorcycle – revealed in March this year – could arguably be the most serious new adventure machine we've seen in ages, despite its diminutive 250cc capacity. And the latest patents from Honda hint that it could be going into production.

Based on the Honda CRF250L, the Honda CRF250 Rally adds styling straight from Honda's works Dakar racing motorcycle, the CRF450 Raly, but employs the simple, straightforward mechanical parts of the mass-manufactured Honda CRF250L.

So while it has the style and at least a chunk of the ability of the real Honda Dakar machine, it should be relatively cheap and easy to fix with readily available parts – an important consideration if you're heading for an off-road adventure ride.

The Suzuki Recursion - More and More Likely

Motorcycle NewsThe last time Suzuki turned a forced-induction concept motorcycle into a production model it took six years to reach showrooms and lost its boost along the way. The firm isn't about to make the same mistake again and there's now a large dossier of evidence to suggest that the turbocharged Suzuki Recursion is set to reach showrooms in the near future – despite denial from Suzuki.

In case you missed it, the Suzuki Recursion was Suzuki's show-stopper from the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. Revealed in December of that year, it's a 588cc parallel twin sportsbike with a radical turbocharged engine intended to offer an unbeatable combination of economy and performance. And in the 19 months since its unveiling there's been a steady flow of evidence from Suzuki that the Suzuki Recursion is much more than a mere trinket intended to draw crowds to its show stands.

The latest evidence is perhaps the most important of all. On September 2th, this year, Suzuki filed an application for a trademark on the name Recursion for use on 'motorcycles and the parts and fittings thereof'. In other words, it wants to make sure it can use the name on a commercial basis; no firm would trademark a name it used two years earlier on a concept motorcycle unless it has intent to use that same name again, on a production machine.

The Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin Prices

Motorcycle NewsOnly a few days ago, we received pricing for the keenly anticipated Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin. The American market will get the Dual Clutch Transmission model for US$ 13,699 and the standard gearbox machine is set at US$ 12,999.

At the current exchange rate this makes the traditional gearbox motorcycle 463,024 THB and the DCT model 487,958 THB. How these prices translate to landed in Thailand is tricky to surmise but as soon as we have prices from Honda Big Wing we’ll let you know.

Both Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin machines will come as standard with ABS and HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control – type of traction control) and both systems can be switched off for dirt riding.

3 All-New MV Agusta Motorcycles for 2016

Motorcycle NewsMV Agusta will launch a new F4, Brutale and a 'crossover' model – likely to be a larger version of the tall-rounder MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 triple currently on sale – next year.

The news came at a memorial event for Cagiva founder Claudio Castiglioni, the man who was responsible for the revival of MV Agusta at the turn of the millennium (as well as turning Ducati around before that).

His son Giovanni led on-stage proceedings at the Schiranna factory in Varese, Italy, and announced that decent sales of the company's 675 and 800 triples have put them in a position to build three new 1000cc class motorcycles around an all-new engine and frame.

Reduce the Risk of Leaning in Cornering

Motorcycle NewsWhether you get your knee down or not – I don't – or whether you hang off or not – I do – motorcycles feel great when they're leaned deeply in a corner, right? I think so too. But as nice as leaning feels, it's a moment of great risk.

When motorcycle departs the vertical, its tires have to work a lot harder. There is some ac/deceleration they mush deal with. The turning arc adds sideways loads and a small amount of sideways slip. The harder you lean, the more work for the tire. If you're smooth, the tire has a slightly easier job, if you're not, it has to absorb all of your jerky inputs. The problem is that diminished overall grip creates a fragile equilibrium that is easy to upset.

Motorcycles have to lean over into corners to change direction, but there are ways to minimize risk. Even if you cannot actually reduce the actual angle, you can dramatically reduce the amount of time you sped at that angle. Here's how.

The BMW Path 22 Concept - BMW Scrambler

Motorcycle NewsThe success of Ducati's new Scrambler has caught the attention of many manufacturers, including BMW. Unveiling the BMW Path 22 Concept at the recent Waves and Wheels custom bike festival in France was an opportunity to gauge public reaction ahead of a full production release. Roland Sands has been working with BMW on a Scrambler project and the RSD engine covers on the concept hint the motorcycle is production-ready.

While the Ducati Scrambler is for Thailand the cheapest Ducati model, we can expect the BMW Path 22, which design is based on the BMW R nineT, to be priced at a higher level. Most of the time when motorcycle manufacturers face off in a market segment, prices need to be comparable...
