I was given these ready-to-ride prices today in Nongkhai. Comments invited.

Honda Wave 110cc fuel-injected models:

Honda NS110P (drum brakes): 35,000 baht.

Honda NS110D (front disk brake): 37,000

Honda NS110S (disk, electric start): 40,000

Honda NS110R (drum, cheaper trim): 33,500

Wave 125cc fuel-injected model:

Honda NF125MC (electric start): 50,000 baht.

Quite annoyed to discover that all the Honda (authorized (?)) motorcycle dealers in Nongkhai and even the next town east have the SAME OWNERS.

It's even so that dealers who are not authorized by Honda buy the Honda motorcycles from the local main dealer, which again is the same company... Honda is aware of this and apparently sees it not as a problem.

Those prices are roughly similar with those I have just received (Jan 2012) in Krabi.

I had a Thai girl ringing all the Honda dealers.
We started on prices in Bangkok as that was going to be the most cut-throat and she live there.
But the motor bike (Honda Scoopy) was for her home 30kms from Udonthani.

So you get an idea:

Price on the price list on this web site was 44,800 bt
Best price quoted in Bangkok 45,500 bt (with 1 Honda open helmets; think this is standard)
Best price quoted in Udonthani was 46,000 by (with 2 Honda open helmets)
Ended up paying 46,500 bt in Udonthani at different dealer because they had the "Prestige" model in stock in the colour she wanted.
But this price supposedly includes Theft Insurance.

I am looking at buying a Honda Wave 125I PGM-FI
This again is on the price list at 45,000 bt for kickstart and 48,500 bt for electric start.
I am getting the Thai girl to shop around for the best price again in Bangkok and then Udonthani.
On the above basis I am looking at 46,500 and 50,000 respectively.
