 Personal Vehicles Permanent Importing

I plan to retire in thailand and would like to import a 1996 BMW R 1100 GS which I have owned since year 2000. Can someone please tell me
1. Can I do this
2 How much to pay for tax and duty, value in UK is now around GBP 2,000
Please advise
