Do most trains allow bikes or is it only the Chaing Mai route?

Matt..
I have not much experience with trains in Thailand, but I believe that most trains who go to the important stations up-country have a cargo-wagon.

maybe u can call and check wif them..

I believe it is possible.
I was transporting my bicycle from Bangkok to Hatyai ( Southern Thailand into Malaysia ) and there was 2 big Bikes ( Touring bikes ) which was loaded onto the Goods wagon too.
You have to ask the Goods/ Packages section at BKK station and they will advise you on the price and how to get the bike onto the Goods wagon. Bike don't have to be packed. Just as it is on the road.
I transported my bicycle from Hatyai to BKK and then from BKK to Nong Kai ( Border town with Laos ) via Train. So motor cycles should be also possible.
