Alternative Thinking, Hemp Motorcycle Jacket
Are you opposed to wearing animal skin, or do you think it's just to hot in Thailand to wear leather? After a more casual-looking riding coat? Joe Rocket's Hemp jacket may be the option you didn't know was available.
Looking for a material with excellent protective qualities and the generally lower-cost appeal of textile gear, the designers at Joe Rocket tried hemp cloth. They discovered that natural hemp has shear and tensile strength rivaling racing-grade leathers and is stronger and more resistant to abrasion than synthetic textiles.
Industrial hemp's sturdy nature hides the fact that this motorcycle jacket is fully CE armored at the elbows, shoulders and spine. It is also fitted with a zip-out quilted vest liner. Factor in the full-length zippered mesh placket hiding behind the main zipper that when exposed, flows loads of cooling air, and the Hemp can comfortably handle a broad rang of temperatures. Discretely disguised zippered exit vents allow full front-to-back ventilation flow-through.
Let's talk fit: Hook-and-loop waist cinches and three-position elastic arm-tension straps do a fine job of keeping the casually cut Hemp from flapping in the breeze at high-speed. Ditto the hook-and-loop-tabbed mandarin collar and front and rear belt-loop security straps. Reflective vertical back-of-jacket piping pops to life when hit by lights at night.
Off the motorcycle, that same adjustability and subtle logo work up the jacket's crossover appeal.
