Honda Air Blade -liquide- King of Cool

The Honda Air Blade is the latest addition to the fleet of Honda motor bikes available in Thailand at the moment. The Honda Air Blade designed by Kaoru Hayashi and his team is one of the sleekest of the scooter style motor bikes available on the market.

The Honda Air Blade with its sharp wide beam twin headlights has numerous features that make it one of the best value and most reliable motor bike, the Honda Air Blade is a strong competitor on a highly competitive motorcycle market.

The Honda Air Blade's 110cc four-stroke engine with built-in liquid cooling is compact but packs more horsepower than a standard 125cc air-cooled automatic motorcycle engine. Ride comfortably, confidently and smoothly at all speeds with the efficient new V-Matic belt-drive transmission that uses a long-lasting reinforced steel belt.
One of the newest safety futures is the installed Combi-Brake technology distributes braking power between the front and rear wheels when only the left brake lever is activated. The motorcycle comes to a stop within a shorter distance with both wheels handling the braking. Additional, the Honda Air Blade is equipped with a Parking Brake system which works in the same way as a car's hand brake.

The engine is actual a 4-stroke SOHC 108cc cylinder with a compression ratio of 11:1 with a 50mm bore and a 55mm stroke and a CDI ignition.

The 103 kilogram Honda Air Blade comes in two versions, the NC110AC and the NC110AS. The main difference between the two is that one comes with aluminum-magnesium alloy wheels an the other with spoked wheels. The rear suspension uses a single swingarm with two shock absorbers which contributing nicely to the motorcycle handling and braking, the Honda Air Blade is all about driving pleasure. The front suspension is what we find with most motorcycles, a telescopic fork with not much to tell about, other that we cannot complain about the road handling of this latest Honda motorcycle.

The tail light is made up from high power LED lights, which are clearly seen from far away. The new positions of the fuel tank, which makes it easier to fill the motorcycle, but it needs some getting used to. I'm sure you will see many first time Honda Air Blade drivers opening the seat. The new position of the gasoline tank also gives more space for personal belongings under the seat.

It is normal for almost the aumtomatic motobike. If you don't use it for a while, the engine will "cools down" so it deosn't start right away. All you need to do is "to warm the engine up a bit", so that when you start using it again, it will runs smoothly. Also, if you don't warm the engine well, before riding, you may face some problems like: the bike engine might goes off in the middle of the traffic, or slow down. It's really a problem at all. Just warm the engine hot. Then it will gives you the best performance.

It is a small engine, but it packs alot of horsepower, as the article says. Ive never had any problems with outrunning other bikes or cars uphill, even with 4 people on the bike. It really is powerfull.
Had my bike parked for over a week, it started right away, wasnt a problem at all.

i just got a new air blade...feels great but kinda sluggish and slow compared to my spunkier wave 125...is that just something that would get better as the engine gets broken in or should i bring it back to the dealer? also...i have no clue on how to make the parking brake work?

thanks to y'all.

You commented about the brake by the left hand brake, well I must admit, I really don't know either Smile

I used to have a Click but that got stolen, so I bought an Air-Blade secondhand, and i have spent a while trying to figure it out, but to no success. I should be in the Honda Garage this weekend, I will ask them about it and get back to you

My Airblade is one of the best bikes I've ever had. The parking brake is simple: Squeeze the left lever in as far as it will go, then move the little lever upwards, using the other hand. (It's hard to find at first. Just ahead and inboard of the left brake lever.) Then release the brake lever. If it doesn't work, you haven't squeezed the left brake lever hard enough. To release parking brake, squeeze the left brake lever until the parking brake lever releases. You can also assist it to release manually by pulling downwards. Good luck, you've bought a superb motorbike !

I totally agree, there are no other bikes that have the power like the Air Blade and Click (same engine).
This is due to the high compression of the engine because of the liquid cooling allows the compression to get higher (normally higher = more power). I think its 10.6:1 or 11:1 (its in the brochure) and motorbikes like the Yamaha Mio only have a 9.6:1

As for not starting, I find that is common on both the Click and the Air-Blade if you dont use it regulary, but this is normally common on most bikes that haven't been used in a while.

A great bike, quite economical and plenty of power and comfort, especially for tall people it has a better seating position that the Click.
