Your joking right? Make whatever rules you want. Nobody ever obeys them anyway. Ride where you want, park where you want, no need for a helmet (if you have a 10 baht head wear a 10 baht helmet), mirrors are only used to see if you still look beautiful (male and female)...................... change attitude before worrying about rules.
agree no one reads the rule book so it will only increase cost
it is a very gud idea ...hereafter the teenagers are buys only bike....no need to buy car i think
Many states in USA tried same, They had License for 500cc limit restriction. Then a no restriction endorsement. They did away with it because it did not work and only cost more money to taxpayer.

The change would be in what the police can charge you with. If you have the same right as a car, you can legally drive in the fast lane. You can pull in the right hand turn lane. You can use the over pass. You can use the over head toll way. I have been sighted on two of these counts & have had to slither my way through Bangkok streets to make my way to Pataya because I was unable to use tollways w/ a big bike.

Agreed, if we could use tollways and motor ways to get around, then it makes sense, but if we get no other rights, then it is a waste.

It would be good only if Big Bikes can use Tollways, Motorways, Expressways, is we do not get those rights, then it is a waste.

What if under 250cc ride on the left and over 250cc ride on the right ??? That would sort out the men from the boys.

Pretty much every good comment has already been said, but unless there is some element of enforcement aside from the roadblocks where for the most part the police just sit in the shade and drink coffee all day, there can be a dictionary of rules and nobody will ever care.
Whats the point of making a new law when the existing laws are not enforced anyway, it would be a complete farce.

What if the Thai government became a stable Thai government. Then we could talk about introducing a change such as this. In the meantime it's just pie in the sky!
Yes I think that it would be excellent. But to have the luck that it progressive it is necessary to find the good interlocutors. Not to hesitate to put them on motorcycles over 500cc and to send them to the traffic of Bangkok and by following the same rules that mopeds. And after that only, can beings will have we the luck to see this project studying by the authorities.

It's a good idea, but the main concern is how Thailand is with motorcycles.
I've seen four year-olds driving motorcycles, side-cars admittedly, but still driving them, I've seen families of seven (two babies, five adults) on single motorcycles, it's insane.
Plus people under eighteen aren't technically allowed to drive over 105ccs, yet you see school children everywhere riding 125s everywhere.
Motorcycle laws aren't gonna' do much for Thailand unless police enforce them properly. But we all know what the police are like.
That's the case in Phuket anyway...
