Even though Valentino Rossi came to the Twitter party late, he currently is the leader of motorsport twitters. The Italian MotoGP legend has eclipsed the 1.5 million mark on the social network – double of current MotoGP World Champion Jorge Lorenzo.
In just 13 months, Valentino Rossi has passed Formula One stars Fernando Alonso, who has nearly 1.4 million followers, and Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton.
For comparison Pope Benedict XVI, meanwhile, just surpassed the one million mark on Twitter, compared to Valentino Rossi having over 1.5 million followers on the social network.
