That is good news, we love Keeway, but Keeway is defiantly not a Chinese or Taiwanese manufacturer. I believe they have some manufacturing done in China, and Taiwan but they are a Hungarian manufacturing company. |

Hi this Cruiser looks good and if I am not going to be able to get a Yamaha V twin this would be a suitable alternative!!! I have emailed various departments of keeway who I guess are based in Europe NO REPLY Today I sent a rude email to the English operation and they must have forwarded it to a guy in China!! I do think the bikes are being manufactured in China but this fact does not really bother me.What did bother me was that the Chinese guy had no knowledge of anyome stocking their bikse in Thailand! in fact he was sure they were not on sale in Thailand!!! Trying to buy the model of something you actually want to buy as opposed to buying all the old tat which is actually on offer is a Nightmare in Thailand I do not actually think that the Thais understand business. If things were not so restrictive here any entrepreneur worth a damm could make a fortune!!! |

Taken from the Keeway/Qian Jiang company profile posted on http://liumi2153.en.ecplaza.net/:
KEEWAY is the European-registered brand of Qianjiang Group of China. KEEWAY has become a multinational organization incorporating R&D, design, sale, and service of motorcycle and other mechanical products. Under the corporate umbrella, there are Qianjiang-Keeway Europe (Hungary), Keeway Poland, Keeway Spain, Keeway Finland, Keeway France, Keeway Italy, Keeway Croatia, Keeway America (USA), among others.
KEEWAY, a company having more than 14.000 employees, is a statement in the Chinese motorcycle industry.
Every year more than 1.200.000 scooter, motorbikes and quads are produced! In China, Keeway vehicles are traded as Qian Jiang and since 1999 they are exported as KEEWAY all over the world. There has also been founded a European headquarters in Hungary.

The Keeway brand name is registered to an address in Hungary. That the Hungarian brand owners manufacturer the motorcycles in China is nothing new, BMW, Sachs and several none-European brands do that. Still Keeway has a European office and most R&D is done in Europe, therefore they qualify as a European brand name. |

The brand name is registered in Hungary but the Hungarian brand name owners are a Chinese company who have their headquarters in Shanghai and who happen to be the same company who manufacture the bikes. Sure, it is a Hungarian brand.... ;-) |

How can a Chinese company hold a European registered brand name? The only way they can do that is by registering it through a company they own which is registered as a European company. So the Keeway brand and company in Hungary are European, with a Chinese owner, again similar as the company structure for Sachs Motorrad. (Sachs also has a Chinese owner) |

When I lived in Greece we had a few Keeway scooters, and in the 5-years I used those scooters to commute around the island we lived on I cannot remember any serious problems with one of them. |
