Anyone know of a chart that identifies what the 13 VIN digits codes on a Thai built Kawasaki Ninja 250R represent? Model year, engine type, factory ID, etc?

Are you sure the Kawasaki Ninja 250R has a 13 digit VIN number? I looked in our garage and a Ninja 650R has a 17 digit VIN number

Yes lucky 13 ? , engine and frame are same same number with exception of 7th character having a “ – “ on frame vs an “ E “ on engine ; otherwise the other 12 characters are same in sequence. These two 13 digit VINs are also listed on the Thai green book registration?

Based on some inquiries, I come to believe no digit on Thai VIN refers to model year, factory, etc., on the Thai built Kawasaki bikes; first 5 digits refer to model type, last five are build order sequence, the 7th character is either an “ E ‘ or “ – “ , referring to E on engine marking, or – on chassis marking, still not sure about what 6 and 8 digits refer to on these thai 13 number vins.
When getting first Thai registration (green book), bike will be registered as per date year of registration, and not based on bike model year.
Also there is a separate Kawasaki code issued within new warranty book (not on bike, not on registration) referring to model year, examples:
EX250K9F is 2009
EX250KAF is 2010
EX650DAF is 2010
