I just installed an Hayden M6 chain tensioner in my '92 Heritage Softail, with the primary chain I have been running for a while. It seems to work well, but the chain sometimes slaps the inner primary (maybe I haven't set the M6 properly). Is this common, or is there something else I have overlooked?
My chain seems to be in good shape, but honestly I can't remember when I was changed last. Any help you have would be greatly appreciated.

Without even going into it here, get yourself a new primary chain. I could suggest a brand name, but anything will be better than the worn-out chain you're running now, which is beyond the adjusting capabilities of the M6 chain adjuster.
