The Yamaha NMax - New Global Scooter Model
Yamaha Motor have developed the Nmax, a new global scooter powered by a 155cc engine. It is the latest in an extensive line-up the Japanese company has in South-East Asia, including the 530cc Tmax, and some for Thailand very familiar 115, 125, and 135cc scooters.
If the Yamaha NMax does arrive in Thailand, it will bring several firsts to the scooter market.
The all-new 155cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine is based on Yamaha's Blue Core concept, also seen on several other motorcycles and scooters in South-East Asia. The liquid-cooled engine features variable valve actuation and develops around 16 horsepower and 14.4Nm torque.
The Yamaha Nmax also features disc brakes front and rear with ABS as standard, what is something new for the small engine scooter market. The Yamaha Nmax costs 27.4 million Indonesian Rupiahs (about 62,500 THB), and we think it would be a fine addition to the Yamaha range in Thailand to offer a real competitor to the Honda PCX150.
