The Yamaha MT-09 - The Modern Three-Cylinder
The all-new 800cc street naked motorcycle ushers in Yamaha's new design philosophy and has been described as one of the most important new offerings globally by Yamaha. Featuring Yamaha's all-new three-cylinder engine, a 847cc engine, which incorporate the Crossplane Concept, that produces 116.5 of peak horsepower and 85.4 Nm of peak torque, with ride-by-wire throttle and variable power modes as part of standard equipment.
The Yamaha MT-09 offers also includes an all-new set of radial brakes, 10-spoke wheels and horizontally mounted shocks, weighing almost 188 kilograms it houses a 14-liter fuel tank. The Yamaha MT-09 has been targeted as a 'fun' and 'cool' machine with its distinctive styling. It just might prove a perfect foil to its competitors.
Sadly, while the all-new Yamaha MT-09 has partly been developed, and manufactured in Thailand it will not be sold in Thailand at first, the first 11,000 units are all set to be exported to the European market. The Yamaha MT-09 will be available in Europe from the first half of September 2013.
