The 2014 Yamaha FJR1300ES - Electronic Suspension
Four preload modes for the shock allow the rider to choose among solo, solo with luggage, two-up, or two-up with luggage presets. Damping response comes in three profiles – Soft, Standard, and Hard – each of which offers seven fine-tunable settings within. Once you find your sweet spot, the Yamaha FJR1300ES will remember your personalized parameters within each profile, allowing you to just toggle among the three modes.
A similarly equipped, electronically suspended FJR1300 is already offered in Europe, but that European spec motorcycle is only available with Yamaha 'electronic clutch-less gear shift' system. All Yamaha FJR1300ES motorcycles bound for non-Europe market will come equipped with the conventional manual gearbox, though still with just five gears.
A new Candy Red color color option will likely make the 2014 Yamaha FJR1300ES easier to spot. The rest of the motorcycle remains unchanged from the 2013 model, coming standard with traction control, dual drive modes (Touring and Sport), cruise control, and adjustable seat, windshield, and leg vents.
The last version we see delivered 123 horsepower from the smooth-running, 1,298cc inline-four; we expect similar performance from the 2014 Yamaha FJR1300. The Electronic Suspension version of the Yamaha FJR1300 will probably cost about 40,000 THB more.
