It's a new motorcycle its own right, with the research, development and specific components that entails.The Triumph Street Triple is everything you'd want it to be. You're at home right away, with natural ergonomics and effortless responses and handling. You could shut your eyes and direct the agile chassis with though alone (some only a Jedi master should try). The brakes are two-pot and the suspension only adjustable for rear preload, but neither are lacking – there's power to squeal the tire, and the forks and shock share the Triumph Tiger's great blend of handling, control and ride quality.
And the engine: smooth, flexible power from tickover, a rolling wave of drive between 6000 and 10,000rpm, plus a top-end rush to the 13,000rpm redline. And that unique triple-cylinder sound.
You get clever 675 clocks, good mirrors and a tidy bikini-style fairing too. It's all things to all people – docile at low speed, comfy, predictable and reassuring, but with a naughty streak to shame even the loopy Triumph Speed Triple. The Triumph Street Triple is a remarkable machine.
