Trackday, Sportsbikes to the Max
Things are very different in 2010. For a start, you can't be certain that there isn't a speed radar pointed at you for parts of your journey, yes some police departments have handheld speed detection equipment. We even have seen some static speed cameras on the outer-ring road of Bangkok.
On top of that, with motorcycles like the Kawasaki ZX-10R, Yamaha YZF-R1, Ducati 1198, and other motorcycle models topping a ton in first, it would be illegal to ever experience peak power on the road, let alone wring it out through third and fourth. Plus with modern chassis and tire technology moving as fast as the motorcycle themselves, pushing them to the limits on the road is impossible if you have even the most basic sense of self-preservation.
Why is it then, that so many of Thailand's new sportbike owners have never taken their state-of-the-art tool to a track? They're the one place where you can go flat out in relative safety.
