The Smaller Ducati Multistrada, New Air-Cooled Monster and New Scramblers

The much talked about Ducati SuperSport is just the start of a flood of new motorcycles from Ducati. The Ducati Multistrada 950 takes the essence of the fantastic but gigantic Ducati Multistrada 1200 and distills it into a more manageable package, using the same 937cc engine as the Ducati SuperSport.

The front wheel of the Ducati Multistrada 950 is 19-inch, like the Multistrada 1200 Enduro. It has four riding modes as standard” Touring, Sport, Urban and Enduro, reflecting the breadth of its abilities.

There are four optional packages for the Ducati Multistrada 950. The Multistrada 950 Touring pack brings panniers and a centerstand; the Multistrada 950 Sport pack has a Termignoni exhaust and billet aluminum detailing; the Multistrada 950 Urban pack has a top box, tankbag and USB charger; the Multistrada 950 Enduro pack has LED foglights and various Touratech parts: crash bars, sumpguard, aluminum radiator guard and a bigger sidestand foot.

The new-look Ducati Monster line-up has intriguing new arrivals at both top and bottom. The Ducati Monster 797 should please those who’ve been hankering after a Ducati Monster with the air-cooled simplicity of the Ducati Scrambler 800. The Ducati Monster 1200 comes in three forms. The regular Monster 1200 has 15 horsepower more than the previous Monster 1200, and the Monster 1200S gets upgraded Brembo brakes, Ohlins suspension, different wheels and LED front indicators. There’s also an Monster 1200R with a further extra 10 horsepower and a wider rear tire.

In between the Ducati Monster 797 and the Monster 1200, Ducati will still have the Monster 821 in the line-up.

This renewed interest in the Ducati Monster family has not been at the expense of the Ducati Scrambler models. There are two distinctly different additions, both sticking with the familiar 803cc engine. The Ducati Scrambler Cafe Racer has 17-inch wheels front and rear, race number plates and a tiny flyscreen. The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled is a slightly more dirt-friendly Scrambler, with a bashplate and a 19-inch front wheel.

Ducati have also revealed, for big wallet owners, the trackday-friendly Ducati 1299 Superleggera, which has frame, wheels, subframe and swingarm all made from carbon-fiber.
