The Honda CRF250 Rally maybe not for Thailand
With the start of the week, we are currently less convinced that the Honda CRF250 Rally will be introduced in Thailand. Apparently the people at Honda Thailand who figure out what would sell and what would not figured out that the seat height of the Honda CRF250 Rally would be to high and therefore it would be difficult to sell.
I have to agree that the seat height is huge, I measured 900mm, of course I’m not an measuring expert – also I used a tape measure what is probably not that accurate. But I have experience with the new Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin and the seat of the Honda CRF250 Rally is seriously higher…
You probably can get some foam out of the seat to lower it, but that would make it also less comfortable.
The newly styled Honda CRF250 Rally includes a 10 liter fuel tank and a longer Showa fork and 25mm more rear suspension travel means this is a motorcycle with real off-road potential. The Honda CRF250 Rally also gained about 2 horses extra and now put out just over 24 horsepower.
Lets hope that Honda Thailand makes the right decision. By the way the seat height of the Honda CRF250 Rally is maybe a world record as two highest motorcycles I know off are the KTM 1190 Adventure R and the Kawasaki KLR650 at 889mm. The KTM is available in Thailand but according to the importer only a few people bought one, and we all know the Thai made Kawasaki KLR650 is not even sold in Thailand.
