The Ducati Desmosedici GP15 Next Week in Sepang
The engine is still a 90° V four-cylinder with desmodromic distribution, but it's a completely new unit, plus the bike is more compact than before, offers more adjustment options, and has more advanced electronics.
So here we are: Dovizioso and Iannone can't wait to take it out on track to give all the fans and Ducatisti the thrills that only these bikes can give!
Two Andreas: Dovizioso and Iannone. Two Italians: one from Romagna and the other from Abruzzo. These are our official riders, wearing the Ducati Team's colours for the 2015 MotoGP season, ready and focused on the objective of getting the most from the Ducati Desmosedici GP15 doing battle with their adversaries on the world's racetracks and feeding the passion and hopes of Ducati fans for the season ahead.
On the Desmosedici, our heroes will form an all-Italian duo for the first time since Ducati started taking part in the MotoGP championship!
Both Dovizioso and Iannone will be able to use their experience on the red bikes, both being in their third consecutive year with Ducati, the man from Forlì already as official rider, and the 25 year old from Vasto promoted to the role of "Ducati factory rider" after two seasons in the satellite team.
A unique pairing, ready to inspire the enthusiasm of the fans thanks, too, to the series of increasingly good results achieved up to now, with Dovizioso who ended the 2014 championship in fifth place while also winning two podiums and a pole position, and Iannone who, after scoring a top ten position last year, came third overall in the first session of winter tests on the Sepang track in Malaysia.
The Ducati Team has got what it takes to compete this season at the height of expectations, and can also count on the valuable support of the official test rider Michele Pirro, who has made a decisive contribution to the development of the new bike and will continue to do so throughout the championship, working alongside the official riders.
