The BMW C Evolution into Production
The production version of the BMW C Evolution electric maxi-scooter made its debut at the 2013 Frankfurt International Motor Show.
The scooter is claimed to have a range of 100 kilometers under practical conditions. It's powered by a drivetrain swingarm with liquid-cooled permanent magnet synchronous motor via a toothed belt and ring gearing.
The BMW C Evolution makes 15 horsepower, with peak output of 47 horses for a top speed of 120km/h and BMW say the electric scooter has better acceleration than some regular maxi scooters with engines of plus 600cc.
When plugged iito a standard 220 volt domestic power socket with a 12A charge current, recharging fully from empty takes around four hours (with 220v/16A this is three hours).
The new BMW C Evolution will be available with torque control assist (TCA), which works in a similar way to the Automatic Stability Control feature on BMW motorcycles with combustion engines. TCA limits the motor's torque depending on the slip at the rear wheel.Tag: BMW C-Evolution Maxi-Scooter Electric Vehicle EV Electric Bike Electric Scooter Scooter Business Production Manufacturer
