The All-New Bimota BB3 - Back and Better
In a statement from the new Bimota owners we can read 'Bimota deserves to go back to its former glory. We are working to build a global network devoted to excellence and able to offer the best service.' We could not agree more, Bimota deserves to be back in business.
The first brand-new motorcycle under the new management is the Bimota BB3 with a composite frame, with weight of just 179 kilogram and inline-four, 999cc, BMW 999cc that is capable of producing 193 horsepower (144kW) at 13,000rpm, and 112Nm torque at 9,750rpm. The BMW engine is the same engine that powers the new 2014 BMW S1000RR. Bimota claims that the top speed of the BB3 will excite 315km/h.
Just for information, the BMW S1000RR motorcycle weighs 207.7kg wet, while the Bimota BB3 is 28.7 kilogram lighter.
Additional to the all new Bimota BB3, the Italian firm will also produce a limited-run Bimota Tesi 40th models to celebrate 40 years of Bimota. No prizes for guessing how many are built. The rumor is that an eager Thai entrepreneur is interested in introducing Bimota to the Thai market, with the success of brand names like Ducati, MV Agusta, Harley-Davidson, Victory Motorcycles, and Zero Engineering we can understand why.
