The 2017 KTM 200 and 390 Duke at EICMA

It has been confirmed that the 2017 KTM 390 and 200 Duke will break cover at the EICMA in Milan this November. EICMA is the biggest motorcycle show in Europe, the motorcycle show offers the perfect opportunity to showcase or tease new products for most motorcycle manufacturers. At the 2016 show, we expect the updated KTM Duke range – images of which were leaked recently – to be officially unveiled.

The divisive new design for the headlamp takes Kiska’s, one of KTM’s design partners, shockingly sharp style to another level. The unit is now split into six smaller elements and should divide up the duties for low and high beam and parking lights.

The inclusion of a new instrument cluster should offer better legibility and functionality. We expect the redesigned fuel tank to offer more fuel storage, and hense a more usable range, thereby fixing a common irritant for KTM Duke owners. Another change that can boost the practical quotient of the KTM Dukes is linked to the bolt-on rear sub-frame as it is expected to offer better ergonomics for the pillion as well.
As with the 2016 updates for Europe, the leaked image shows the 2017 KTM Duke with span-adjustable levers. Hopefully, these additions along with ride-by-wire will make their Thai debut when the Dukes are launched in early 2017. This would also give KTM the opportunity to upgrade the 200 Duke to the 250cc displacement. The 250cc engine, although made in India, has been an export product for some time now. However, it is very likely that the KTM 390 Duke will receive a bump up in power and torque figures.

The updates we would love to see on the KTM Duke headed to Thailand include a better front brake feel, smoother low speed rideability, better bump adsorption and Pirelli tires.Tag: KTM Duke 200 Duke 390 Duke 2017 250 Duke 200cc 250cc 390cc EICMA Motorcycle Show Design Update Launched
