The 2014 Honda CBR300R, Fiction or Reality
Honda would certainly not want to be left out of the firepower race, which brings us to the Honda CBR300R. It'll look exactly like the model it will replace (CBR250R) but the engine will be bores out for extra capacity. Understandable, it'll also carry a CBR300R badge.
Going through Honda's international catalog, we noticed the CB300 sold in Brazil. Compared to the Honda CBR250R engine, the CB300R's single-cylinder 291.6cc engine makes 26.5 horsepower (0.5 horsepower more than the current Honda CBR250R) and 28.9Nm (6Nm torque about the current CBR250R). Torque is satisfactory but we expect Honda will tinker with the engine for some extra horsepower.
Honda offers an optional ABS system on the CBR250R. Expect this as standard on the rumored Honda CBR300R. The Honda CBR300R will likely have its global debut at the EICMA show in Milan this November, followed by the Thai launch soon after. We may just spot the all-new CBR300R at the Bangkok Motorbike Festival in CentralWorld in downtown Bangkok.
