Suzuki the First with Hydrogen-Powered Scooter

Suzuki has published patents for its first road-legal hydrogen-powered fuel-cell super scooter. America is an eager adopter of this sort of technology and Toyota has seen sales of its hybrids rocket in the US so it’s a sound game plan to launch this (although the Suzuki scooter is not a hybrid, a purely hydrogen-powered vehicle) as a first fuel-cell super scooter in America to gauge reaction and customer take-up on the idea.

This is a significant move from Suzuki which has been working on the technology for a few years and has already shown its hydrogen-powered motorcycle concept to the world.
Development for the Suzuki super scooter, which looks very similar to a regular Suzuki Burgman scooter, hasn’t really been much of a secret with a lot of actual design and application coming from a English design firm.

What’s significant is the patent is now registered and filed with the US market, which was applied for last August but published as a patent on 25 February – this ring-fences this design for Suzuki. Expect more patents to be filled for fuel-cell technology in road-legal motorcycles in the near future.Tag: Suzuki Scooter Hydrogen-Powered Fuel-Cell Burgman Technology Patent Concept
