The New Suzuki Smash 115 Fi - All About Fuel Economy
There has been a model called the Suzuki Smash for some years in Thailand but this latest model is mostly new. The engine has a new camshaft, revised fuel injection and changes to reduce engine friction.
Most of the engine changes are mostly to create excellent fuel economy, but it's a highly efficient little engine that also accelerates way from the lights pretty smartly and doesn't take long to get up to 100 kilometers per hour.
The latest Suzuki Smash 115 Fi corners respectably and the brakes are pretty good, though the suspension struggles with bad road surfaces.
But like any sub-125cc scooter aimed principally at commuters and shoppers, it's not about performance – it's about practicality. So you get both side- and centerstand, and both kick and electric starts. There's a helmet-sized compartment under the seat, plus two uncovered oddment slots and a curry hook by your knees.
The seat is big enough for larger riders and small passengers. A luggage rack is optional, and other options include a top box and a screen (depending from dealer to dealer)
