New Rearset for my Yamaha YZF-R1
I sit further back in the seat than most normal riders, due to having a larger belly behind the fuel-tank, so I always find my plates are too far forward with standard rearsets. This means that it's much more difficult to be aggressive, and accurate, with my body position while riding the motorcycle.
The problem is easily fixed, and the fix comes as adjustable rearsets for the Yamaha YZF-R1. The adjustable rearsets are a modification I need to do to all motorcycles I owned since I moved to Thailand, partly because they also look good, but predominantly because the adjustable rearsets fundamentally improve every single moment I'm riding my motorcycle.
[amazon_right:B000GZUR3O]Being comfortable and properly positioned influences everything you do while you're on your motorcycle, whether you're filtering through downtown Bangkok on rush-hour, cruising on a rural highway, or stimulate your adrenaline production on a race track.
I prefer my fee to be a bit higher than the standard Yamaha rearsets, and quite a lot further back. This allows me to get my feet underneath me, so I can use my legs properly to move me around on the seat, properly weight the pegs, and to take the emphasis off my arms having to do so much of the work.
So I've fitted Gilles Tooling Y08G rearsets on my Yamaha YZF-R1. They're well manufactured and thoughtfully designed. The adjustablility is excellent, and adjusting is easy. Additional adjustability for the levers contribute to the benefits and comfort offered by the pegs.., and allows you to fine tune the positioning. Great if you have larger or smaller feet than the average person.
Of all the rearsets I've tried over the years the Gilles Tooling rearsets are very high on my personal product satisfaction list, they're just first class. I found my new Gilles Tooling rearsets on the Internet, and ordering was easy, a week later they were delivered at my Bangkok home by a Thai delivery company.
