Lowering your Motorcycle

Some people in Thailand are interested in lowering there motorcycle. Installing lowering links is an easy, inexpensive way to lower the motorcycle. A few things to make notes on when lowering a motorcycle, though. The ride height of a motorcycle is set up for one reason: Ground clearance.

When you lower your motorcycle, you're taking away from your ground clearance. Keep this in mind when you 'slamming' your motorcycle. If you like carving the corners then lowering your motorcycle is going to effect that. It doesn't mean that you can't. At the end of the day, you gotta be able to reach the ground so you can stop at those pesky red lights.

When you do put the link on your motorcycle, you going to need to keep the motorcycle balanced. Which means lowering the front forks, also. Gotta keep the geometry balanced otherwise it will be like riding a chopper instead of an all-road or sportsbike...
There are other options if you only need a little bit to get comfortable while stopped on your motorcycle. Spring rates are a good option. Installing softer springs in the front fork will complement your smaller physique, very well.

When manufacturers build motorcycles they build them for the average rider. So putting the right spring rates for your weight will help make that motorcycle sit a little lower and actually handle better.
