Indian Chief Line-Up Gets the 2016 Springfield
Indian Motorcycles, the well-known cruiser manufacturer, has just added the 2016 Indian Springfield to its motorcycle line-up. The new touring motorcycle is named after the company's headquarters in Springfield, Massachusetts and as far as we know the price for Thailand is not yet released. The motorcycle belongs to the Indian Chief family of motorcycles and it features a trunk-compatible chassis for higher loading capacity.The massive tourer also sports a bespoke quick-release windshield, and gets other standard features such as remote locking hard luggage, adjustable passenger floorboards, leather seats, ABS, tire pressure monitoring system and cruise control.
The Indian Springfield is a big highway cruiser and it weighs a whopping 388 kilograms. It has a massive 20.8 liter fuel tank that sits on top of the very refined 1811cc V-twin engine. The Indian Springfield has ample power and it's got 138.9Nm of maximum torque. Power is send to the rear wheel by a six-speed manual gearbox and a belt-drive system, while the suspension uses regular telescopic forks up front and it get an air adjustable mono-shock at the rear.
The brakes up front use dual 300mm rotors clamped down by four-piston calipers, while the rear gets a single 300mm rotor and two-piston caliper setup.
