Honda Commemorates 20 Million-Unit Mark in Cumulative Production of Power Products in Thailand
Thai Honda, which began power products production in 1987, achieved the 20 million-unit milestone only four years and nine months after achieving the 10 million-unit milestone in October 2007. At the new power products plant, Thai Honda is producing Honda’s bestselling GX engine series which are small-sized, lightweight, highly compatible and durable, as well as water pumps and trimmers, and currently has an annual production capacity of approximately 2.7 million units.
Power products manufactured by Thai Honda are not only being sold in Thailand and the Asia Oceania region, but also exported to 80 countries worldwide including North America, Europe and Japan.
Further, in addition to its global production responsibilities, the power products development function of Honda R&D Southeast Asia Co., Ltd. will be transferred to the new plant. Through the integration of development and production, which enables Honda to deliver good products to its customers with speed, affordability and low CO2 emissions, Honda will continue its effort to increase the size and efficiency of its power products operation.
