Ewan McGregor New Face for Moto Guzzi California 1400
Okay, so this is a strange story to get but we like it anyway. It appears that everyone's favorite motorcycling, tsunami-dodging Ewan McGregor has affiliated himself with an Italian motorcycle builder instead of a German one.Specifically, McGregor has been announced as 'the face of the new Moto Guzzi California 1400'. Now, we thought that the California 1400 had a face already, the front of the motorcycle, but it appears it needed another one and – as McGregor is a bit of a Guzzi-nut himself, the deal was done.
In Starwars, Obi-Wan pretended to be a non-Jedi knight of the old realm and slipping back into character as a Scot said: “I'm proud to have starred in this advertising campaign, I think we have really done something unique and great. I liked the new Moto Guzzi California 1400 straight away, from the first time I saw it. Then it surprised me when I rode it. It's from another planet... truly surprising.
And this is coming from someone who knows Moto Guzzi, if you consider that my 10 Moto Guzzis include models like the 1971 V7 Ambassador, the 1972 V7 Sport, the 1974 V7 Eldorado, the 2000 V11, the 2001 V11 Tenni, the 2009 California Vintage with a sidecar and very soon a California 14000 Custom! I could never believe that this, twisting the throttle open, could make you go faster and I still think that's amazing, I love the motorcycle as an object, I love it as a piece of art.
I ended up selling the first Moto Guzzi I had, it's the only Moto Guzzi I've ever bought that I sold. I've been waiting a long time to ride the new Moto Guzzi California 1400 and it didn't disappoint, it's smooth it's fast but it's still a Guzzi.
