“I believe Erik Buell Racing has established itself as one of the premier motorcycle manufacturers in the world and has strong potential as a viable business,” LAP chief executive Bill Melvin said.
“Hundreds of millions of dollars have been spent on research and design to arrive at the EBR RS, RX and SX platforms which have proven themselves on the racing circuit to be state-of-the-art and generated strong demand among dealers.”
LAP plans to run a two-part process. Part one is to on-sell the business to a new buyer who has the desire, experience and financial ability to continue manufacturing EBR's motorcycles. Part two will be the sale of excess assets to help streamline the operation.
“EBR isn't a start-up. This is an established brand with a huge following across the globe. Our hope is that someone will continue to manufacture these amazing motorcycles and with our acquisition, we are adding more pavement to the road so this can happen.”
LAP has given itself 12 months for the project.Tag: EBR Erik Buell Racing Liquid Asset Partners Buell Hero MotoCorp Harley-DAvidson BIll Melvin
