Ducati and BMW Sales Figures
The success of the Ducati Scrambler has played a key role in the result, with over 9,000 being delivered in the first six months of 2015. Ducati Multistrada 1200 continues to be popular with 4,700 motorcycles sold, the new Ducati Monster 821 s faring well with 3,700 happy new owners, while 3,000 Ducati Panigales went to new homes.
Another European motorcycle manufacturer doing well is BMW Motorrad, sales up 12 percent for the first six months of 2015. BMW sold 78,418 two-wheelers from January to June, with sales up 31 percent in June alone, a record month for the German motorcycle-car company. It too is on course for another record year after a stellar 2014.
Germany is BMW's biggest market but gains were made all over the world, as for Ducati.
The biggest seller from BMW is of course still the BMW R1200GS, followed by the BMW R1200GS Adventure. Also faring well are the BMW R1200RT, the new BMW R-nine-T, the new BMW S1000RR and also the supernaked BMW S1000R.
At this rate BMW Motorrad may give KTM a run for its money as best selling European motorcycle brand for 2015.
