Ducati Multistrada D-Air - Ducati-Dainese Airbag Solution

Italian superbike manufacturer Ducati continue to be at the forefront of cutting-edge motorcycle technology with their latest offering: the Ducati Multistrada D-Air. For the first time ever, a production motorcycle will have built-in airbag capabilities.

Ducati, in association with motorcycle accessories and apparel manufacturer Dainese, have developed a sensor system that is directly integrated into the Multistrada's electronics. This sensor system is wirelessly connected to a specially designed airbag infused riding jacket by Dainese.

If the sensor on the Ducati Multistrada detects that an accident is imminent, it sends a signal to the jacket's receivers (this will takes less than 45 milliseconds), causing the airbag in the jacket to be deployed, providing an additional layer of protection for the rider.
Initially, the Ducati Multistrada D-Air will be made available only in Europe, with the motorcycle scheduled for launch next month. Insiders expect that Ducati will include other markets worldwide before the end of 2014.

More information about the Ducati Multistrada D-Air is expected to surface around the launch date, so stay tuned.Tag: Ducati Multistrada Dainese D-Air Safety Gear Development Technology
