The Ducati Multistrada 1200 - Only Ducati Would Make It
Oddly for a Ducati the heart of the Multistrada 1200, an 1198cc V-twin derived from the Ducati 1198 superbike, isn't the star of the show. It may make a claimed 150 horsepower, which Ducati say is delivered far lower in the rev range than the Ducati 1198 superbike thanks to a new head and tweaked valve timing, but it's what surrounds the engine that impresses.
The Ducati Multistrada 1200 has Ducati's traction control system (DTC), but the Multistrada 1200 combines it with four different fuel maps (Sport, Urban, Touring and Enduro) as well as electronic controllable suspension so that when you select a different mode the motorcycle automatically adjusts itself to suit the conditions.
And don't think the Ducati Multistrada 1200's fun factor will be reduced at all by the electric gizmos, they can all be turned off or altered to suit your specific riding style, and trust us the Ducati Multistrada 1200 is a promise to be mental.
Ducati claim the motorcycle weight just 189kg dry, which is 14kg lighter than BMW's GS, and as well as proper sized 17-inch wheels that mean you can fit some seriously sticky rubber, the Multistrada 1200 has Brembo radial brakes, huge 50mm forks and a beautiful single-sided swingarm. On the practical side of things the Ducati has a 20-liter fuel tank, optional panniers, two 12volt power outputs and a fairly decent screen. Ducati costs 985,000 THB, and 1,220,000 THB for the S models.
