Ducati Hypermotard 796 with Termignoni Carbon Exhaust
We decided to do something about the power problem and bought an Hypermotard 796 Termignoni Carbon Full Exhaust system. It sounds impressive and looks stunning, certainly better than the original Ducati exhaust that sounded more like a 125cc scooter, but we were hoping for a bit more of a power gain.
You know that feeling when you're expecting a giant and a dwarf shows up? Okay, it was not that bad. It sounds amazing but the result s a bit disappointing. That's a bit like my feeling when the Ducati Hypermotard 796 went on the dyno and we saw the result.
The impressive looking Termignoni Carbon Full Exhaust system mustered a 5 hp gain but it feels like more, probably due to the 5 N.m of torque the Termignoni exhaust system has also found. It rips at 4,000 rpm now: idea territory in the rev-range for huge singles, and pulls harder at the top. But the carbon-fiber Termignoni full exhaust system costs an enormous amount of money for just the little gain. Comparing the cost of the Hypermotard 796 and the Termignoni exhaust system together, we start wondering if the Hypermotard 1100 EVO wasn't a better choice. At least the Termignoni exhaust system has got the Ducati badge of approval on it.
