Dani Pedrosa Back into the Race

Dani Pedrosa had a solid return to action at Le Mans after returning from surgery to cure arm pump. Pedrosa crashed in the early stages of the race but remounted to test his arm and make sure that he knew exactly where his recovery stands.

Understandably Dani Pedrosa is lacking in arm strength and endurance having been off a MotoGP bike for two months, but after completing the full race distance he was adamant that any issues have been put behind him. Pedrosa had no explanation for his crash, saying 'I lost the front and I don't know why.' The bike was damaged, the handlebar was bent and the throttle return wasn't working, so Pedrosa's pace was limited after his off, but with Le Mans effectively an outing to get back up to speed there was important information to be gained just by continuing to circulate the track.
'I tried to make the race into a test for the arm,' said Pedrosa. 'I was quite happy about my physical condition, I think I still need to improve a little bit, but I guess in the next weeks with the therapy I have to do, and with a little bit more loose riding, and some more laps, I can get a little better. So in general, there is a positive today.'

On On Friday after his first run in pratice Pedrosa admitted that getting his brain back up to speed was the biggest challenge. Having been off the bike for so long it was similar to the first test at Sepang where a rider has to get up to speed very quickly but everything soon feels natural again.
