Chinese Motorcycle Business Future
We spoke with some motorcycle industry market experts. They say: “The Chinese manufacturers that want to continue to export to Europe will need to create Euro 4 compliant motorcycles. They'll probably use the same tried-and-tested Electronic Fuel Injection systems already in existence from companies like Bosch (German) and Delphi (USA), who have been doing this for a number of years. There are currently no native Chinese manufacturers of EFI systems as far as we know, but they will eventually do it themselves.”
Several Chinese manufacturers have been building a strong brand and dealer network, offering Chinese-made motorcycles from a Thai base with variety of tweaks carried out in local assembly factories.
All these Chinese suppliers are working hard to improve quality and customer service, but most established Chinese motorcycle brands in Thailand also have plans to start making more and more parts locally in Thailand, so that the motorcycles can be more easily sold around the world as being made in Thailand. Several Chinese companies have already invested heavily in Thailand and opened large manufacturing facilities. They have solid inventory of accessories and parts ready to ship within hours after being ordered.
Several Chinese motorcycle manufacturing companies are in so good financial shape that they can easily buy, or invest in European, American or Japanese motorcycle brands that have some problems.
It would not surprise us if in the near future we will see more 400cc or even 650cc or larger motorcycles from Chinese manufacturers. When it comes to motorcycles the Euro 4 emission rules could be starting to push Chinese motorcycle manufacturers closer towards becoming the new motorcycle technology market leader.Tag: Chinese Motorcycles Business Export EFI Bosch Delphi Euro-4 Emission Manufacturing Production
