Possible BMW 300cc Scooter Being Tested
Still evidently some way off being production ready, and with no information forthcoming from BMW, it’s very difficult to be sure of its capacity or final form – but it does appear to be a mid-capacity BMW. The windscreen mounts look almost identical to those on the current BMW C650 range, the overall styling has hints of the larger BMW R1200RT, there are LED mini-indicators that look the same as those on current BMWs and the scoot is testing in Germany.
The styling of the rear three-quarter side panels is also similar to those on the current BMW C650 models.
What we can see from the pictures is there are some big differences in terms the engineering between the current BMW C650 and this prototype. We can see the single-sided swingarm has been ditched in favor of a double-sided version, the exhaust, while unfinished, appears to be significantly different, and the front brakes have been upgraded to newer Brembo items.
The BMW C650 scooter range is still pretty fresh and was given a mid-life refresh only last year, so there is a chance this is an addition to the range, rather than a replacement for an existing model; perhaps a smaller 300cc capacity version to sit below the current 650cc models, and appeal to the more urban end of the executive scooter market.Tag: BMW 300cc Scooter C650 C300 CVT Brembo Small-Capacity-Bike Prototype
