We tested a pair of Alpinestars Scout boots in a variety of conditions on the road and in the dirt. In the rain the unidentified waterproof membrane does its job as advertised, keeping the feet dry and toasty for the duration of our rides. Off-road the Scout boots don't offer motocross spec fortification, but they're not as heavy either, and are ideal for dual-sport riding where you need protection plus comfort and walk-ability.
