2017 Benelli 150cc Sportsbike

Benelli wants a piece of the pie in the 150cc sportsbike market, leaked via patent applications, a new 150cc single-cylinder sportsbike that, according to the stickers on its nose and tail, will be called the TXV or Dragon 150.

Currently under development at Benelli with the code name BJ150T-30, the motorcycle appears to use a liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. What little of the engine that can be seen in the pictures doesn’t seem to match anything in Benelli product range.

The pictured prototype is clearly still a hand-made one-off. While some parts, like the wheels, come from existing models in the company’s motorcycle model range, others are new. The swingarm and frame look somewhat bodged, with ugly welds visible under the black paint. And several components, like the mirrors, are missing from the motorcycle.
However, its intention is to copyright the styling, and as such the bodywork should be representative of the final machine. The design has clear similarities to the all-new Benelli Tornado 302R 300cc parallel-twin revealed not so long ago, as you’d expect as part of Benelli’s family of fully faired motorcycles.

As with all the more-affordable Benelli motorcycles, it’s likely the new 150cc sportsbike will be made in China. It’s not clear whether it will get sold in Thailand or Southeast Asia markets, but its 150cc capacity could make it perfect for the ASEAN motorcycle market...Tag: Benelli Sportsbike 150cc Fairing Single-Cylinder Liquid-Cooled TXV Dragon Tornado Prototype BJ150T-30 Small-Capacity-Bike
