The 2014 Triumph Bonneville T100 - Great Classic Bike
I think I said once that anyone considering buying a cruiser would be mad not to ride the Triumph Bonneville T100, and if you not hear this before I will tell you again. It may not look as bad-ass, but ride and handling are far superior, as is performance. Most cruisers kill themselves breaking 0 to 100 in 5 seconds. That's because they generally weigh pretty heavy. The Triumph Bonneville T100 is just 227kg and gets at the legal Thai maximum speed under 5 seconds. In cruiser fashion, its weight is biased rearward with 126kg on the back so when braking you're well advised to give the foot pedal e decent prod. There may only be a single disc up front but it has good bite and feel, and when used together with the rear brake unit this slows the Triumph Bonneville T100 in a big hurry.
And that's rather handy because the 2014 Triumph Bonneville T100 is capable of cruising at speeds most police officers won't be capable of. Yet it will happily chuff through suburban streets at 50km/h in top gear, fifth, with just 1800rpm showing. It's this flexibility that makes the Triumph Bonneville T100 such a friendly motorcycle; in town you upshift by 3000rpm. The gearbox is simply magic in operation, unlike on many twin cruisers.
Downsides are few, with exception of the purchase price in Thailand of course. The mirrors look good but soon go blurry. And the engine vibrates a bit above 6500rpm, but the best out of town orge lies below that rev range anyway. The ignition barrel is in a classically inconvenient location. But on the upside, the seat's comfy, there's a new pillion grab rail on the 2014 Triumph Bonneville T100, and both levers are span adjustable. If you want friendly, competent, and classic look no further...Tag: Triumph Bonneville T100 Cruiser Classic Retro Parallel-Twin 865cc
