The 2013 Triumph Trophy 1200 - Luxury Touring Bike
This time round, there are no such visual quirks. Judging from the first photos, the 21st-century version looks arguably a little too German, leading some to suggest that Triumph used the existing BMW R1200RT as a design template.
Beneath the Bauhaus-inspired skin lurks the same 1215cc triple as the Triumph Explorer 1200, which passes on its 132 horsepower and 120Nm peak torque output to a six-speed transmission. Like its sibling, the 300 kilogram Triumph Trophy has a ride-by-wire throttle, and it also gets traction control, but its ABS system has no override switch.
Birtbike Thailand will import two Triumph Trophy models: a base version equipped with the basic goodies and options, including a power-adjustable screen and hard luggage; while an SSE model gains an iPod-ready audio system, Bluetooth communications and electronic adjustment (Sport, Normal and Comfort) for the WP suspension. Prices will be confirmed closer to the motorcycle's arrival in Thailand...
