The 2013 Triumph Street Triple - Greatly Improved
Well, the last Triumph Street Triple was born when someone decided to pull the fairing off a Triumph Daytona 675 and sell it as an urban naked 'sports' motorcycle. It was no worse off for it either, reaping the benefits of a supersports chassis. However, there were a couple of areas that were compromised as a result of its origin; namely a pants turning circle and a seat height that put off most potential buyers in Thailand and other buyers in South-East Asia.
With no option of ABS, no immobilizer and five-year-old styling, the 675cc triple-cylinder English nakedbike was due for a good update. And update they have, an all-new chassis coupled with sharp new styling freshens the Triumph Street Triple up a treat. The old, fabricated rear subframe has been replaced with a snazzy die-cast one and a new main frame has shaved serious weight from an already light motorcycle. A new frame, swingarm and low slung exhaust have given the engineers a chance to improve the handling on an already sublime chassis.
Options available now include AS and tire pressure monitoring and the new 2013 Triumph Street Triple comes with an immobilizer as standard. And there's now more useable amount of steering lock and a lower seat too, perfect for Triumph's planned expansion into Asia...
