2011 Kawasaki Product Launch Preview
For Kawasaki the main theme for 2011 is green, and this time we mean environmentally green, some Kawasaki models get for 2011 a redesigned combustion chamber, which will enhance the efficiency of the combustion burn. Currently some Kawasaki models sold in Thailand are electronically restricted to pass the strict Thai exhaust emission law, it's possible that this restrictions are not necessary for the new 2011 Kawasaki models.
The models available in Thailand that will pass the new Kawasaki environmental standard for 2011 are the Kawasaki Ninja 250R, Kawasaki D-Tracker X 250, Kawasaki D-Tracker 125, Kawasaki KLX 250, Kawasaki KLX 125, Kawasaki KSR 110, Kawasaki Vulcan 900, and likely the Kawasaki ER-6N and Kawasaki Ninja 650R. The Thai build Kawasaki ER-4N and Kawasaki Ninja 400R also meet the new environmental goals set by Kawasaki but this models are currently not being sold in Thailand.
If we look at the new specification of the Kawasaki Ninja 250R, we can now see that the official specification claim a maximum output of 23kW at 11,000 rpm with a maximum torque at 21Nm at 8,500 rpm. The official Kawasaki 2010 specifications where maximum output of 24 kW at 11,000 rpm with a maximum torque of 22Nm at 8,200 rpm. From some unofficial information from Japan we can see that the 2011 Kawasaki Ninja 250R is 151kg what is 2kg less weight that the current 2010 Thai specifications. Another specification difference is that the new Japanese specifications specify 248cc while the Thai Kawasaki specification say 249cc for the 2010 model.
The 2011 Kawasaki Ninja 250R will be an environmental friendly machine, with exhaust emissions not exceeding 2.0 Co , 0.30 HC, 0.15 Nox gram per kilometer. And sound production is brought back to 73dB. Also Kawasaki doesn't use Mercury, Hexavalent chromium, Cadmium, and reduced the use of Lead in the production of the new 2011 Kawasaki motorcycles line-up.
