Yamaha has recalled a undisclosed number of motorcycles, including the MT-03 and the mechanically identical YZF-R3 sportsbike due to a potential risk of engine seizure from a lack of oil because the oil pump drive gear might break due to excessive stress.

In addition, there is a risk of a potential clutch failure due to a faulty bearing in the clutch pressure plate.

Some models of the Yamaha YZF-R3 model face a separate recall because the top triple-clamp may crack under normal riding conditions due to a casting problem that occurred during the manufacturing process.
