The Suzuki Tempter ST400V is not sold in Thailand, if really want one you could try RedBarron in Bangkok (they sometimes import a motorcycle for customers) but I have to tell it will not be cheap.

Maybe another idea is to buy a Yamaha SR400, which is the same style and official available from Yamaha Thailand... A local manufacturer is said to introduce soon the Stallion CT400 (which also is a Cafe Racer style)

Dear News,

I already have a tempter 400! I am just looking for the CDI box and any info that could come with it!

Regarding CDI specs or manual, there is absolutely nothing on internet....

I spend the whole day looking around china town, without success...

i think I will have to get someone to create the box itself...

Anyone would know if the suzuki savage has the same cdi box, as I see all over the net that they are the same motors and parts.

Anyone who could help is very welcome!

Peace to all.

Leo.

Hello Leo,

Can you please say which year your motorcycle was build? Makes it easier to find the correct part you need. For earlier Suzuki's you can also look for Kawasaki parts as Suzuki and Kawasaki worked together for some years (from 2001 until 2006).

Dear News,

I think it s ST 400 Y Tempter 400 NK43A made from 00/03 2000/2002, but i couldnt be certain unfortunately, as the only papers I have dont mention it. it mentions NK43A-100366 for frame number, in a doc found on internet, i find those codes NK43A-101360 to be from 2000/2002.

www.gs-classic.de/download/Suzuki_Rahmen3.pdf

ST 400 V Tempter 400 NK43A 97/04 1997 1998 NK43A-100001 K409-
ST 400 X Tempter 400 NK43A 98/09 1999 NK43A-101??? K409-
ST 400 Y Tempter 400 NK43A 00/03 2000 2002 NK43A- 101360

unless 100366 means 97 until 98....

I am not sure it make sense, what do you think?

Dear News,

i yet didnt find the way to post you pics. After going around I am pretty sure it s 2000/2002.

the previous CDI was a mitshubishi MGT015 / J4T08671 (7414)

if that can help, to me it was pretty useless.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Kindly,

L.

Does the Suzuki Savage LS650 not use the same CDI as the LS400 / ST400?

By: Anonymous: leochef ()  Wednesday, 04 November 2015 @ 05:19 PM ICT

Hi Bob,

I though too, but apparently not!

Tempter is 32900/07F00

while LS650 uses 32900/24B30

It s the same number of pins, but the plug is slightly on the side, while the other one is at middle. Could be working, tho!

I am not able to see any specs which would certify it.

Anyway, I wouldnt know where to purchase it in Bangkok.

I think I will have a friend of mine to make it from scratch!

If anyone one has any idea, i will keep diging, as this story makes me nuts! Walking in bkk, it s like biking in the void...

Cheers to all.

L.

He Leo,

You can get the part from the Thai Suzuki Marine dealer, the same CDI is used for several outboard engines

Hull Co., Ltd.
167/3 Moo 4, Na-Jomtien Sattahip, Chonburi 20250
Thailand
Tel: +66-(0)38-23-8131 / 2
Fax: +66-(0)38-23-8133
Email: info@hull.co.th

They also have a office in Phuket, but sadly not in Bangkok...

Also not talk about motorcycles to them that will only confuse them, they can have a 32900/07F00 CDI for you within a few days....

With kind regards....
