This year Yamaha Thailand officially will release the Yamaha SR400, the (2014) Yamaha SR400 is according to a Yamaha Thai spokes person the most requested motorcycle since Yamaha started to sell big bikes in Thailand.



And the Yamaha SR400 is not the only big bike Yamaha Thailand will release... Actually, Yamaha Thailand plans to introduce a few more big bikes and scoots before they come to launch the 2014 Yamaha SR400 in Thailand

We have no idea what the price will be, the new 2014 Yamaha SR400 is a complete new global model and will probably be manufactured in Japan.

Thanks to the editors for a nice piece about a motorcycle soon available on Thai market,which looks affordable enough for the average person to buy,maintain and possibly customize.

I think it is possible the price will be around 150 000 baht. What do you think guys ?

Manufactured in Japan and subject to the usual import duty I think it will be priced at around 300000 baht.

Thailand has something like a free-trade-agreement with Japan, not forget that the Suzuki V-Strom 650 or the Suzuki Gladius 650 are also manufactured in Japan and cost in Thailand not much more than in other countries in the world.

While I expect that the 150,000 THB is lower than I expect, but 300,000 THB is probably too high. The Suzuki Gladius 650 costs in Thailand 319,000 THB.

150,000 baht?
There would be a queue kms long out of the showroom at that bargain price.
I'd suggest 250,000 is closer to the eventual price.

And it's about time Suzuki Big Bikes set up shops outside Bgk too.

The 265,000 THB price is very reasonable, the same Yamaha SR400 costs in Europe (Germany) 5.795 Euro, what is about 260,775 THB. In other European countries like the Netherlands you pay 6.499 Euro (about 292,455 THB) for the 2014 Yamaha SR400.

So if the sales price is for Thailand 265,000 THB it's inline with the price paid in Europe... Thailand due to environmental regulations will receive the same model sold in Europe...

Yamaha Thailand have officially advertised the price as being 265,000 baht. This compares very favourably with the UK price of 280,535 baht.

If we compare the Thai price for the 2014 Yamaha SR400 with the price in the European market only Germany is 5,000 THB cheaper than what we pay here... With imported motorcycles being generally very expensive in Thailand, we cannot really complain about the 5,000 THB price difference between Thailand and Germany.

Overpriced in Europe, by my reckoning and seriously underpowered
