"New for Thailand will be the Honda CBR650F, CB650F and CBR300R."

In what form will these bikes come to Thailand?
Fully imported?
Assembled here?
Manufactured here?

In an interview with a reporter from a Thai newspaper the Thai Honda CEO said that the new Honda CBR650F and CB650F would be manufactured in Thailand. We already knew that the Honda CBR300R would be made in Thailand.

Thank you.
So the prices should be very competitive.

The negative part of the news is that Honda Thailand apparently only makes less than 7,000 units, and the Honda CBR650F and CB650F are according to Honda HQ designed and manufactured for the European market.

With only 7,000 units for the European Union how many are planned for Thailand, or do we have to wait until the end of the 3rd quarter of 2014...

The CBR650F, priced at 300,000 baht and the CB650F, priced at 285,000, will be the showroom floor at Honda Big Wing Chiang Mai (and probably elsewhere) on December 18th and available to order on the 20th.

If these new 650 Honda's are going to put out circa 85Hp stock standard and the current Kwaka 650 only putting out circa 72Hp

Then this point alone will kick the Kwaka Sales down big time

Thai Kwaka has had no competition for years and they have been increasing their old school ER6N/F every year now to stupid price levels

I am a die hard Kwaka fan from way back...but I will be holding off my purchase of a new Z800 until I can look and test ride one of these new 650 Honda's for sure.

Sounds weird when you mentioned "Kwaka" haha. I am a fan of Kawasaki though, since here in TH they sell product which is value for money and have clear market segmentation (sport bike). But if other give better product, there is no harm to switch Smile

And isn't this increase in make and model choices and the competition between manufactures good for us all?
We are living in exciting times indeed!
Bring 'em on.

Good question.
For 'Bangkok' read 'Thailand'.
Pity there's no answer!

I just spoke to the honda big bike showroom people in Bangkok. They will have the honda CBR650F in the showroom for drives next Saturday (23rd December) between 10am-1pm.

I was looking very seriously at this bike as opposed to the kawasaki BUT the sales guy was also kind enough to tell me that if i placed an order today - i would probably only get the bike in june next year!

just thought i'd share!

Honda Big Wing Manager told a potential customer (according to 'RideAsia'Wink that the CRB650F would be available 'in February' and the CB650F 'in March'!

Oh, and the same Manager was totally dismissive of the 300 becoming available.
