The New Yamaha Tricity 155 with Variable Valve Timing
Yamaha didn't had much to reveal at the Osaka Motor Show this year but it did whip the covers off an upped specification of the Yamaha Tricity three-wheeler. The new version gains a 155cc engine with variable valve timing instead of the bit weak current 125cc engine.
Using the engine from the recently launched Southeast Asian version of the Nmax 155 means it has 11.1kW instead of the now 8.1kW and 14.4Nm of torque instead of 10.4Nm.
Small numbers but a big percentage increase for a small scooter like this.
The new Yamaha Tricity 155 also gains a new full-LED headlight and a revised seat that offers more comfort. Even in markets where scooters are license-limited to 125cc, there's a good change that the Tricity will be updated to variable valve timing (VVT) specifications since currently Yamaha also makes a 125cc version of the Nmax with 9kW horsepower and 11.7Nm torque mainly for the European market.
