The Yamaha Tracer 700 - Sport-Touring MT-07 Version
In Europe, Yamaha has officially unveiled a sport-touring version of the Yamaha MT-07, known as the Yamaha Tracer 700.This promises to be one of the most affordable of the genre, if it arrives here which is not yet confirmed, but we'd be surprised if it was overlooked. Based on the Yamaha MT-07 chassis and using the high output 56kW (75 horsepower) 689cc parallel-twin engine, the Yamaha Tracer 700 adds a 50mm longer swingarm (wheelbased 1450mm) a 3 liters larger fuel tank (17 liter), and suspension revisions for a 'smooth and responsive character'.
There's also a manually adjustable screen (with a taller option available), a stepped dual seat with grab rail, hand guards with indicators incorporated and luggage options. The latter comprise 20 liters soft panniers and 39 liters top box. It even gets the dual headlights of its bigger brother. At 196 kilograms wet, the Yamaha Tracer 700 is a real lightweight of the genre, which is a good thing for less experienced riders and also those who are looking to maximize performance and economy.
Yamaha Thailand now has in the line-up the Yamaha FJR1300 big dog for touring, a mid-range 700cc touring model would be nice. European dealers will see the Yamaha Tracer 700 midyear. It should dot down here in time for summer.
